Vivekananda's Message Relevant for the Modern Youth

Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, the Hon'ble
President of India said that Swami Vivekananda's message
is very relevant for the modern youth and it can fill
their minds with indomitable spirit, while addressing
a large gathering of about 5000 youths participating
in the Youth Convention organised by Ramakrishna Mission
Vivekananda Memorial at Porbandar as a part of National
Youth Day Celebration on 12th January (Birthday of Swami
Vivekananda)
He also replied to a few selected questions
out of 46 questions sent to him. The full text of his
speech and his replies to the 46 questions are available
on the Website: - www.presidentofindia.nic.in . He felicitated
14 selected students out of about one thousand students
who had participated in the Annual Competition organised
as a part of Swami Vivekananda's birthday celebration
and felicitated 16 selected persons who had contributed
in cash or kind for the activities of the Ashrama.
He also inaugurated Vivekananda Institute of Value Education
& Culture (VIVEC) and received the first copy of
the Information Brochure of VIVEC and first copies of
the other books recently published by the Ashrama from
the hands of Swami Suhitananda, Asst Secretary of Ramakrishna
Math & Mission, Belur math

Gujarati)
The atmosphere was charged with the
spirit of Swami Vivekananda when the whole assembly
recited the inspiring message of Swami Vivekananda.
All the youths present on the occasion
took ten oaths as administered by the President of India.
Earlier Swami Nikhileswarananda welcomed
the Hon'ble President of India, Hon'ble Governor of
Gujarat, dignitaries, Government Officers, the teachers
and students of various educational institution of Gujarat
etc and exclaimed that it was a thrice blessed day-
Firstly the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, secondly
the birth of a new educational institute and thirdly
the first visit of Dr. Kalam to Porbandar as the President
of India. Swami Nikhileswarananda expressed joy and
gratefulness to the Hon'ble President of India for keeping
up the promise given by him during his earlier visit
to Porbandar on 13/02/2002 that he would participate
in the birthday celebration of Swami Vivekananda. |
